PILATES
This is a comprehensive, face to face Pilates Mat training. The training requires a minimum of 30 hours Pilates practice either through Soul Barre or an approved studio. All participants must be familiar with a regular Pilates Practice.
Course Description
A comprehensive 50-hour course that teaches a contemporary fitness-based Pilates method and exercises allowing the instructor to put together their own classes. Covering verbal cueing, some modifications, and flow of a class.
This course is designed for qualified Personal Trainers, Barre, Yoga instructors or group fitness instructors, as well as anyone wanting to advance their practice. A minimum of 30 hours class experience in Soul Barre Pilates classes or other Pilates classes (subject to approval).
This course does not have a formal assessment.
Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes
– To teach a dynamic contemporary Pilates class.
– Learn basic Pilates vocabulary.
– Learn history of Pilates, Pilates principles and Pilates breathing.
– Some modifications to advance classes.
– Important verbal cueing
– Learn how to cue exercises with breath.
– Suggestion on how to add props including bands, balls, and weights.
– Large repertoire of exercises
This course earns 8 CEC’s through Aus Active
BARRE
A fun, comprehensive, and extensive 55-hour course that teaches the SOULBARRE class method and exercises allowing you to put together your own classes.
This course is open to any and all regular students that love Barre and wish to develop their technique and personal practice further as well as Pilates Mat, Yoga, or Group Fitness instructors. A minimum of 30 hours class experience in SOULBARRE or other Barre classes is required to participate.
This course earns 11 CEC’s through Aus Active
Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes
-To teach both a dynamic, fun and empowering SOULBARRE class using your existing knowledge as a qualified Pilates or group fitness teacher
-Learn basic barre vocabulary which will be universal to all Soul Barre Classes and all Soul Barre Instructors
-Verbal cueing and modifications adjustments and flow of a class to advance classes, provide for pregnancy and injury
-Allows instructors full creativity to put together their own dynamic and fun, full body 45 – 60 minute class, including 10 minute final cool down and Savasana
-Learn how to cue exercises, breath and empower your class no matter what fitness or Pilates experience they are
-How to manage different experience and strength/fitness levels with modification and advancements for exercises
-How to cue breath, music, counting and projection of voice and energy. Reading the room and adjusting the class accordingly
-Adjustment via voice cueing and guidelines for physical adjustments
-Injury and pregnancy modification
-How to use props including Bands, Balls and weights
-How to keep your classes fresh and put together fun effective classes that incorporate your own personal flair
This course is designed for anyone who wants longevity in the industry and is committed to providing a safe and fun barre class with variety and creativity.
